“MAX” type bearings do not have a retainer and ball groove. "MAX" means the maximum number of spheres.
This design allows the bearing to handle 35% more load capacity than retainer type bearings (standard). MAX bearings come with 90% grease filling using CRC Marine. High pressure grease with Grease or Almagard ®.
MAX bearings do not rotate as smoothly as retainer bearings and work best on suspension pivots. In some cases, a Max Bearing can be used to replace an undersized bearing in a hub or used for a heavier rider. “LLU” is a double lip type seal that makes half contact. The “LLU” seal is mounted in a labyrinth seal groove.
